About the Tattoo

Living in this world where our physical presence can literally be omitted in the grand scheme of the universe, little do we realize that we do manifest the world we live in. Every thought, feeling, emotion can directly alter how the world presents itself to us. How I experience this world can be vastly different from how you experience it.

I personally have felt like a victim for a long time, angry and passive. I have a noisy mind that tends to break everything down in the most negative way possible. As I became fed up by my helpless subconscious, I started by telling myself day in and day out that I cannot control what happens to me but can control how I respond to it. That being said, practicing a new train of thoughts can be just as hard as building a new physical railway. It takes tremendous amounts of time, effort, and consistency.

As I slowly make progress, I drew this garden to keep my faith alive; this is a garden made of some of my favorite plants and animals. It’s a large garden, way larger than me, but I envisioned and drew it. This will stay as proof that I can manifest anything and I shall trust myself in my abilities to do so. This will be my ongoing practice until my new train of thoughts can take over the old one like my second nature.

If you are trying to alter your reality, I hope to inspire a slight turn of your steering wheel to pan away from the dark alleys that you usually go in and hope to hop on a brighter road for a second.

Born and raised in Northern China, I have developed my love for art since the age of 5 and have trained as an illustrator for more than a couple decades. I moved to Vancouver, Canada in 2012 to pursue my passion for drawing in the form of animation while attending Emily Carr University. During my undergraduate studies, I established a passion for the human body and its significance in expressing one's identity and spirit. After graduation, I decided to pursue this passion via temporary tattoos using henna paste and jagua gel. After pursuing temporary tattooing, I was offered an tattoo apprenticeship to pursue permanent tattooing as an art form. I have been tattooing since September 2019.
